Radar Online revealed earlier this weekend that Steve Buscemi lost the person closest to his heart, his wife. Jo Andres, his 65-year-old significant other, passed away this past Friday. She died on the 11th of January but a cause of death isn’t currently known by the mainstream media.

This past week, a funeral was held at the family’s house in Brooklyn, New York. Buscemi and Andres first got married back in 1987 and they have a son, who was born in 1990. Buscemi and Andres are one of the few Hollywood couples who has managed to stay together through thick and thin.

While Steve has never been a typical “heartthrob” actor, his reputation in the industry is quite glowing, especially his works with the Coen Brothers as well as Quentin Tarantino. For the most part, he and his partner have managed to stay out of the public’s eye.

Throughout the years, Jo worked as an artist, a choreographer, an editor, as well as a director. But in the 1980s, says her website, she became more acclaimed for her “film/dance/light performances.” She directed the 1996 film, Black Kites.

Not only was she a dancer, actress, and director, but she also worked as a dance consultant, and was an artist at several universities and museums throughout her life.

Back in 1992, Buscemi and Jo worked together on the short film, What Happened To Pete, in which Buscemi starred, wrote, and directed. Around that same time, Steve began working with Tarantino right before his career exploded with the release of Pulp Fiction.

In September of 2009, Steve, who spoke with The Independent, said that his favorite work of art was something created by his wife, Jo Andres. Moreover, he praised many of her accomplishments, including her performances, films, and paintings.
