Danny Lim attacked: Sydney activist hospitalised after assault

Sydney icon Danny Lim has reportedly been hospitalised after being allegedly assaulted at a train station in the city’s inner west.

The 79-year-old street activist, who has recently been seen campaigning for the Yes vote, suffered facial injuries after he was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with two men at Strathfield station on Friday afternoon, 9Newsreports.

Police said emergency services were called to the station about 4pm following reports of an assault, according to the publication.

Mr Lim was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Concord Hospital.

It has not been confirmed what provoked the attack.

Mr Lim’s lawyer told the publication he was undergoing a CAT scan to assess a head injury and an eye bleed.

The 79-year-old, who is known for his peaceful political slogans, was earlier hospitalised after a run-in with a security guard at Barangaroo in April.

He was also left with a brain bleed and neck injury after he was arrested by police at Sydney’s Queen Victoria Building in November.

Footage of the arrest showed Mr Lim’s head slamming into the ground before the two officers place him in handcuffs.

He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital, where he remained for several days.
